Over two years to be exact. I believe I owe you a little catch-up.
Javier returned to work in June of 2010. We celebrated as he was able to stay in construction. It is a different branch, and he had a learning curve, but he picked it up quickly. I think he has now completed the full spectrum of construction. He started when we first met Painting, he moved to remodeling interiors, next came the bulidings, and now he is working on earth moving and paving. Whats next?
I am now working full time in an attorney's office. I have returned to Real Estate. I have kept my license up to date but I do not have an interest in selling. I worked so hard to earn the license I don't want to completely give them up, so I keep them inactive. I am working as a real estate coordinator. This means I mainly work on purchase and sale closings, Short Sales and Loan Modifications, but I also work with the attorney on other real estate issues. I love meeting new people and being able to help them through their transactions.
I have graduated with my Associates in Business from National College. I am now working on my Bachelors with Averett. I am also still working part time with Aramark. Once its in your blood you can't shake it. : )
Marcus...Is now 14. He no-longer has an interest in soccer but has applied his skills to music. He had the opportunity to join Marching Band this year and has expanded his knowledge and playing skills on percussion. He is also playing lacrosse and has a girlfriend (who is older than him)
Victoria is now 12. She is still loving soccer. She has once again made it to the team that her dad coaches. She also made an attempt at lacrosse. We are waiting for the middle school to start her league.
Since my last post we have made many changes. We nearly lost our house, gave up our boat, purchased cars that are not brand new and paid cash for them (can you believe it?) and no longer have credit cards. Thats right, we pay CASH for everything.
We have watched 3 family members fight and win their battle with cancer and are supporting our family doctor as she starts her fight. She is actually the one that inspired me to start writing again.
Our community suffered a great loss, Victoria's teenage soccer coach/mentor was killed in a car accident.
Kashi found a new home one where he can grow and run and not have to worry about the neighbor lady calling the police on him. Shout and Zappa (who can't be out in the same space together) continue to keep us posted about every leaf that falls or person that runs past our house.
I still have my scooter and have given it company by adding a Buell Blast to the mix. Javier got his M class so he can ride too.
We are all beginning to get comfortable with the new way of life and look forward to the brighter days ahead.
